Westlake Punnett & Associates Pty Ltd were engaged by Zauner Constructions to facilitate the design portion of their D&C contract with Shoalhaven City Council for the Swan Lake Shared Path, Elevated Boardwalk and Pedestrian Bridge at Cudmirrah. The project required close consultation between the design team (WP), the construction team Zauner and the structural steel fabricators (South Coast Welding and Fabrication) in order to achieve a result which was cost effective for the head contractor and which could be fabricated in large part off-site to avoid the significant environmental constraints inherent to the site.

Developing the conceptual design provided by Council, Westlake Punnett & Associates Pty Ltd were able to undertake the detailed structural design of the 38m spanning bridge, prefabricated boardwalk and shared path walkways and achieve significant efficiencies in design including the reduction of screw pile and footing quantities by 50% and significant reductions in the weight of steel utilised.
