Westlake Punnett & Associates Pty Ltd were engaged under a D&C style contract for the rectification of Building 153 at HMAS Creswell in collaboration with BY Group as the construction contractor. The rectification of this significant structure within HMAS Creswell required highly detailed analysis and technical expertise as well as close collaboration with fabricators and the lead contractor to achieve great outcomes.The project took on a different level of difficulty once cladding had been removed which revealed heavily corroded posts and undersized steel trusses which were holding up the entirety of the structure.

Our involvement included the following:

• Take tender drawings through the 'Issued for Construction' stage.
• Undertake and respond to all RFI's and inspection requests.
• Thoroughly inspect the existing structure and provide remedial structural detailing to enable the existing structure to generally remain in-situ.
• Provide all structural documentation and certification required for suitable completion of the project including all defence HOTO CHOTO requirements.
